Anonymous asked: Wouldn't you say the transition that all organizations are going through with regard to the use of social media parallels the transition that all organizations went through with the adoption of personal computers. Not only did you have initial resistance to changing the status quo but there was much ambiguity about how this new technology could be capitalized on. 'Yes, I like the bells and whistles but what can we use it for and how can it save us money?' Organizations that can (did) adopt the technology early enough and had (have) change elasticity were (will) be able to actualize the benefits. It's a little bit of a geek cliche to say 'Resistance Is Futile', but.... it is. You have a good point and observation. I think that any change to the status quo is going to ignite resistance. I feel like the Obama of Ottawa. LOL Oh man, I can’t imagine my life with a computer. Hard to think that only about 20 years ago the same sort of argument was being had about computers.
